COLORADO PART TWO

While we were in Colorado we checked a few things off our bucket lists, because that’s what you do in Colorado. Lots of scary things that make you want to say no, but you I always end up saying “ok, but just this once.” Every time I go to Colorado I get this anxious excitement in the pit of my stomach knowing that I’ll end up doing something outside of my comfort zone. Usually it’s staring down the mountain wishing it was already 3:00 so I could be sitting at the fire pit enjoying some apres ski action…just sayin’. I’ll spare you the ski stories until February though.

IMG_6584The first scary/challenging/terrifying thing we did was going Mountain Biking. Don’t get it twisted, this isn’t your run of the mill, hey let’s ride our bikes around the block type of bike ride. Nope. As my sweet friend Paige text me just moments before we jumped on our bikes “Jenny, this sticks out in my mind as one of the worst days of my life.” Gee thanks. She proceeded to tell me that she begged her husband to please let her ride down with one of the construction guys because she was so terrified. Even better! Nevertheless, a few falls and several bruises later we all made it down the mountain. And to be honest, I’d do it again. Yeah I said it, just don’t tell my husband.

We took early 6 a.m walks because a certain someone was thrown off by the time change,  posed for a million pictures in the backyard at 8 a.m. and sat by the creek in the village. All in a Colorado-fied days work.  Oh Colorado, the next time we meet you’ll be covered with fresh-white-powdery-wonderfulness. And I’ll be anxiously stepping off the plane wondering what adventure lies next.

Last weekend we headed to Keystone, Colorado to spend the week with some dear friends. Flight numero uno for MP and she knocked it out of the park. Like, complete angel baby, sat on the plane and kept herself busy by staring out the window, playing with her Baby Einstein music box and flicking the arm rest for 2 hours.  Can I get an Amen! And yes I’m fully aware that because I’m proudly boasting about this behavior her second flight is likely to be h*ll on wheels at 10,000 feet, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there, ok. Her first flight was definitely fancier than mine. We upgraded to first class…because, well, when you fly with a baby you need all the champagne and extra leg room you can get. Am I right or am I right?! A few days of packing and six checked bags later, yep you heard me six, we boarded the plane and we were off. PTL!

More pics and a recap of things we did while we were there coming in the next post. Stay tuned!
